Training & Study

MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a nationally accredited training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.

This course is being delivered by accredited trainers from the Methodist Church of Great Britain who are licensed by Mental Health First Aid England to do so.

For more information visit MHFA England.

Please note, by registering for the course you are committing to paying for, and attending, both days.

This is an online course over the course. Please only register if you can attend both days.

- Day One: 23rd October 2024, 9:00-17:00

- Day Two: 24th October 2024, 9:00-17:00

Usually the course costs over £300, however if you are connected to the Methodist Church it’s been subsidised to £60 (non- refundable).

Once your payment is made you will receive email instructions to register your place with Mental Health First Aid England. It is essential that you follow the link in the email to complete your booking and receive the materials prior to the sessions.

Mission Planning

Any Church that doesn't yet have a mission plan, maybe they could figure out what God is calling them to focus on in the next 12-18 months (and how working with people experiencing poverty might fit in with that), access mission planning resources. If you would like some help with mission planning, sign up for a mission planning surgery slot at www.methodist.org.uk/mpsurgery .

Mission Planning Toolkit

In this toolkit (click on the red link above) you will find a selection of resources you can use to help you with the eight-step mission planning process. These resources will help you consider your hopes and dreams as a church or circuit carefully and prayerfully together, and then commit your mission plan to paper.
